Spot UV Finishing

Square Bottom Bag VS Stand Up Bags

Bag Capacity

The internal space of an flat bottom bag resembles a cuboid, while the internal space of a stand-up pouch is wider in the middle and narrower at both ends. Therefore, for bags of the same size, an flat bottom bag has a larger capacity than a stand-up pouch.

Printing Sides

Both types of bags have printable sides, providing ample space for product information and interesting designs. However, compared to stand-up pouches, flat bottom bags have two additional sides available for custom printing, offering more design flexibility and increasing information richness.

Price

Box bottom bags require two sets of bag-making machines working together—one for the main body (front, back, bottom) and the other for the sides (left, right). The production process is more complex and therefore more expensive. If gravure printing is chosen, two sets printing plates are needed, while a stand-up pouch only requires one set.

Shape

Flat Bottom bags have a flatter appearance, and their rectangular base allows them to stand more stably on shelves. The appearance of stand-up pouches is often affected by their contents; overfilling will cause wrinkles, while underfilling will make them appear deflated. Therefore, choosing the appropriate size is crucial.

Standard zippers are the most widely used type, offering a smooth opening and closing experience, good sealing performance, and being the most affordable zipper. They allow packaging bags to be repeatedly opened and closed, making them a very practical feature for packaging.

Pull Tab Zipper

Traditionally, you have to tear open the bag before you can open the zipper. However, the easy-tear zipper is located on one side of the packaging (not both sides) and has a small pull tab, making it very easy to open the zipper for the first time; simply pinch it gently and pull.

The hook-and-hook interlocking structure allows for multi-layered engagement with a light pressure; it can be easily separated by tearing, requiring no precise alignment; and it provides a clear sound and tactile feedback when closed, giving users a definite sense of security that it is “sealed”
