Features of Frozen Food Bag
Low Temperature Resistance
Frozen food pouches are stored in freezers or cold warehouses at -18°C, so you need cold-resistant materials.
If you pick unsuitable materials like CPP, it will turn stiff and brittle starting at 0°C. It can crack or tear easily once under pressure.
Great options: PE (-20~115°C), PET (-60~150°C) and PA (-60~130°C).
Puncture Resistance
After freezing, many foods have hard, sharp edges — think frozen meat, bone-in products, frozen fish and quick-frozen fruits & veggies. Standard films get punctured easily by these items. Nylon is your top pick when you need strong puncture resistance.
Vacuum Sealing
When you store certain ingredients for a long time, moisture slowly evaporates away. The food surface dries out, turns pale and loses its flavor.

Safety
Never pick pouches with aluminum foil or metallized layers. Metallic materials create sparks, so they cannot go into microwaves.

Open before heating
As food heats up, air and steam expand inside the pouch and build pressure.
So you should open the pouch first and then put it into the microwave.
This stops the bag from swelling up or even bursting open.
Heating duration
Even if you use heat-resistant inner materials, you still need to control heating time.
Oily food can hit over 150°C locally, and cheese may reach nearly 200°C.
Those temperatures exceed plastic limits. Always heat according to the instructions from your food producer.
Lab Test on Frozen Food Bags
Puncture Resistance Test
Clamp the sample flat between two circular fixtures, making sure it’s tight without stretching, and the test point sits right in the center.A standard conical probe pushes straight into the film at a steady speed of 50 mm/min until it fully pierces the material.
Record the maximum puncture force (N) and running this test on 5 samples and take the average as the final result. Depending on thickness, regular films deliver 12–22 N of puncture resistance, while nylon-laminated pouches reach 40–70 N.
Heat Seal Strength Test
Cut test strips (normally 15 mm wide) from the sealed edge of finished pouches. The seal line sits in the middle, with fixtures gripping both sides of the seal. The machine pulls at a constant speed of 200 mm/min until the seal peels or breaks.
Regular packaging heat seal strength: 12–25 N/15mm
Retort pouches range from 35–70 N/15mm.
