I studied Printing Engineering at the Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication — one of China’s few universities dedicated specifically to print and packaging technology.
I joined the flexible packaging industry right after graduating in 2018, working my way from sales to Sales Manager and Technical Consultant in 2020.
Over the past 8 years, I’ve worked on packaging programs for brands you’d recognize—Starbucks, Planters, McCormick, Bob’s Red Mill, and Merrick. My job isn’t just taking orders. I look at a bag design from the production floor and tell clients what will actually run on the line, and what will fail. Most of the time that means flagging a heat-seal window that’s too narrow, a film structure that won’t pass a puncture test, or a print design that doesn’t translate well to flexography.
I also keep an eye on where the industry is heading — digital printing (HP Indigo), compostable films, and monomaterial recycling — and write about what actually matters for food brands choosing packaging.
